One player who is excited about the Dallas Mavericks’ trip to Barcelona, Spain, is rookie forward Jae Crowder.
The Mavs will play their second preseason game at 2 p.m. CDT Tuesday against FC Barcelona Regal. It’s a game that has special meaning for Crowder.
“My dad played in Barcelona against the team we’re playing over there,’’ Crowder said. “So I’m looking forward to it.’’
Following a two-year career with the Utah Jazz and San Antonio Spurs, Crowder’s father -- Corey Crowder -- played against FC Barcelona Regal in the late 1990’s while he was playing for France.
Asked what it was like to play against a team from Europe that his father played for, Crowder said: “I’m very lucky.
“Not a lot of guys can say that they played against a European team that their dad played for. So it’s just an honor and I’m looking forward to going out there and playing that team.’’
