DALLAS – From Dirk Nowitzki’s vantage point, not much is different from the swollen and sore right knee he had last season to the swollen and sore right knee he has this season.
“The only difference is I’m in better shape,’’ Nowitzki said. “Other than that, same knee, same swelling.
“I don’t think there’s much difference.’’
Last year Nowitzki drained his knee twice and missed four games before getting his knee back into workable condition. So far during training camp, the All-Star forward has already had his knee drained twice as he hopes the swelling will disappear forever.
Still, Nowitzki can’t help but notice the similarities between last season and this season.
“Obviously, I’m a year older than last year,’’ he said. “Other than that, I think the only difference is my leg strength this year is actually really good.
“So hopefully it’ll be OK from here on out.’’
