DALLAS -- The Dallas Mavericks are leaving Love Field to fly to Berlin, Germany, in less than an hour for their preseason opener at 1 p.m Saturday against Alba Berlin.
After Saturday's game, the Mavs will play FC Barcelona Regal in Barcelona, Spain on Tuesday before returning home next Wednesday.
"It's been a long time coming,'' said Mavs forward Dirk Nowitzki, who is from Germany. "I’m looking forward to a great trip, win some new fans over in Germany and Barcelona and hopefully with some good performances.
"But we’ve got to get better as a team. We had a good start to camp here, we have some fun-looking young guys, they’re athletic and fun to watch, so hopefully we can take another step this week.''
