DALLAS -– The man mostly responsible for delivering the ball to the right player doesn’t believe the Dallas Mavericks need an official No. 2 scorer behind forward Dirk Nowitzki.
“I think right now we have so many talented guys that can score the ball,’’ point guard Darren Collison said after Sunday's practice. “We don’t need anybody to put a lot of pressure on himself to do it on our own.
“All we’ve got to do is support Dirk in his own way. I think we have a good enough team where everybody can do the same thing and take off that pressure.’’
Last year Jason Terry was the Mavs' No. 2 go-to guy behind Nowitzki. But the Mavs refused to re-sign Terry, who inked a three-year, $15.7 million free agent contract with the Boston Celtics this past summer.
