DALLAS -- After the Dallas Mavericks’ Blue team nipped the White team, 33-27, in an intrasquad scrimmage Saturday night at American Airlines Center, Brandan Wright noted that they’ve put last season’s unfortunate first-rouhd playoff sweep at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder behind them.
“We’re not even thinking about the playoffs from last year any more,’’ Wright, one of the Mavs' centers, said. “We’re excited to get this year started.’’
The reason Saturday's score was so low was because the Mavs only played one 12-minute quarter in front of 3,000 fans before calling it quits. Now they’ve got to get ready for their preseason home opener Monday at 7:30 p.m. against the Houston Rockets.
“Houston’s looked pretty good in their two preseason games so far and we play those guys four times this year,’’ Wright said. “So it’s a big game for us.’’
