DALLAS -- The Dallas Mavericks trimmed their training camp roster to 16 players this morning after they released center DJ Mbenga and guard Tu Holloway.
Mbenga has played with four different teams during his eight-year career, including for the Mavs from July 14, 2004-Oct. 30, 2007.
Holloway played for Xavier the past four years, but wasn't chosen by any team during this past June's NBA Draft.
"It's that time,'' coach Rick Carlisle said about the roster cuts. "Mbenga and Holloway did a good job here.
"But we've got to cut back for the trip (for the preseason games in Germany and Spain). We've just got to keep moving forward.''
