DALLAS -- Dallas Mavericks center Brandan Wright said he has no timetable set for when he will return from a strained left quadriceps.
Wright suffered the injury on the second day of training camp on Sept. 30, then sat out last Saturday’s preseason opener against Alba Germany, which the Mavs won 89-84. Wright was able to play 17 minutes in Tuesday’s 99-85 loss to FC Barcelona Regal, but he was clearly not himself.
In that game, Wright played 17 minutes, was 1-of-7 from the field and finished with four points and six rebounds.
“It didn’t feel great (in Tuesday’s game) while I was out there,’’ Wright said of his quadriceps. “But I was able to go.’’
As far as splitting the two games in Europe are concerned, Wright knows the new-look Mavs can play much better. He believes it’s going to take time for the eight new players to get in unison with the
“I think we’ve got a lot of room for improvement,’’ said Wright, who is receiving daily treatments for his injury. “Since we haven’t been together that long, this it’s pretty much a new team.
“We had only been practicing for a week and then we’ve played two games already, but that’s what the preseason is for is to get better. But we’ll be alright.’’
