DALLAS -- For Dominique Jones, Saturday's game against the Charlotte Bobcats was one of his best outings in a long, long time.
The fourth-year guard scored six points, handed out six assists and had two rebounds and a steal in 16 minutes as the Mavs drilled the Bobcats, 126-99.
"I started out sluggish in the first half and I was just trying to get into it, get a rhythm,'' said Jones, who was 1-of-6 from the field. "I came in here at halftime and regrouped.
"Coach gave me some words of encouragement and I went out there and did the things that I do best, and it all worked out.''
Jones mainly played because guard Rodrigue Beaubois sat out after re-aggravating his strained left ankle in Friday's practice. In the Mavs' first two games, Jones played less than a minute.
