“I’m just trying to help get everybody going,’’ Marion said. “I think at times, sometimes -- I think we being a young team -- everybody thinks they’re going to take it on their hand and try to do everything themselves.
“The one thing I learned is you just try to make everybody around you better and try to make it be that much easier for everybody, and I’ve beendoing that.’’
Marion, who has missed the past five games with a strained left medial collateral ligament, could return for tonight’s 6 o’clock game against the Indiana Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. In the meantime, he knows folks have to pack their patience when watching the Mavs play, particularly since the Mavs have nine players on this year’s roster who weren’t on last year’s roster.
“We’re still learning,’’ Marion said. “I think we just got to keep helping each other and keep trying to get better and take baby steps.
“It doesn’t happen overnight. We’ve got to keep helping each other.’’
