INDIANAPOLIS -- Shawn Marion looked at his options and decided he would rather get back on the court and help the Dallas Mavericks win games than go through some more rehab.
Thus, Marion will be back on the court tonight at 6 when the Mavs (5-4) face the Indiana Pacers (3-6) at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
"I still have slight pain, but I think I can fight through it, though,'' Marion said after this morning's shootaround. "It's going to be a little discomfort probably for a litle while, but I'm going to do what I can do.
"Plus, I'm tired of doing this rehab. All this little running and stuff on the side, you get tired of that.''
Marion has missed the past five games with a strained left medial collateral ligament. The Mavs went 2-3 during Marion's absence and steadfastly believe they would have at least beaten Charlotte and Minnesota had he been healthy.
Marion doesn't believe he'll be jeopardizing anything by playing tonight, even though he's not 100 percent.
"I think for the most part I'll be able to hold down and do what I need to do to help,'' Marion said. "I'll be alright.
"I think I can go out there and help and contribute, so I'm giving it a shot.''
