DALLAS -- A good time was had by all Saturday night at American Airlines Center as the Dallas Mavericks won their home opener, 126-99, over the Charlotte Bobcats.
The Mavs are now 2-1 on the season headed into Monday's home game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
OJ Mayo set a personal best against Charlotte with seven three-pointers while finishing with 30 points and six rebounds to lead a balanced Mavs' attack. Darren Collison collected 18 points and 10 assists, Vince Carter added 18 points, and Chris Kaman saw his first action of the season and contributed 16 points in 21 minutes on 8-of-9 shooting.
Also for the Mavs, rookie Jae Crowder tallied 10 points and Shawn Marion added eight points and nine rebounds, while coach Rick Carlisle won his 200th game since becoming the Mavs' coach in 2008.
The Mavs also won the rebounding battle, 43-38, which was something of major importance to Carlisle.
With the victory, the Mavs are a perfect 16-0 over the Bobcats since they joined the NBA in 2004. It's the longest active streak the Mavs have over any team.
Ramon Sessions led the Bobcats with 22 points.
