DALLAS -- Mark Followill, the play-by-play man for the Dallas Mavericks’ television broadcast, missed Saturday’s home opener against the Charlotte Bobcats.
Followill sustained some injuries Saturday morning while riding his bicycle around White Rock Lake. His return to the broadcast is unknown.
“We wish Mark a speedy recovery,” said Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. “He has been an anchor on our television broadcast for many years and he will be greatly missed.”
Chuck Cooperstein, the Mavericks radio play-by-play voice on ESPN Radio 103.3 FM, will replace Followill on the television broadcast alongside color analyst Derek Harper. Victor Villalba, the Spanish radio play-by-play voice on 1270 AM KFLC, will replace Cooperstein on ESPN Radio, with Gabe Cabarrouy taking over the Spanish broadcast.
