HOUSTON -- Dallas Mavericks guard OJ Mayo was red hot Saturday night at the Toyota Center.
Mayo poured in a season-high 40 points as the Mavs finished this three-game road trip with a 116-109 nwin over the Houston Rockets. The Mavs, who will host the Sacramento Kings on Monday before starting a three-game road trip Wednesday in Boston, went 2-1 on the road trip.
Other than Mayo, Chris Kaman scored 20 points, and Darren Collison and Vince Carter each poppe din 12 points.
James Harden led the Rockets (9-10) with 39 points and Chanlder Parsons added 18 points.
The Rockets led 98-89 late, but the Mavs ended the game on a 27-9 run to even their recorfd at 10-10.
The Mavs came out of the gate fast, leading 39-20 late in the first period and 39-24 at the conclusion of the first quarter. But the Mavs quickly gave all of that up, and then some, as Houston led at intermission, 66-63.
Mayo wound up 15-of-26 from the field, including 6-of-9 from three-point range.
Forward Shawn Marion did not play after straining his right groin muscle during Thursday's 97-94 win over the Phoenix Suns.
