WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Now that the Dallas Mavericks have snapped their six-game losing streak by disposing of the Washington Wizards, 103-94, Tuesday night at the Verizon Center, next up are the Miami Heat.
Yeah, that team. The Heat team that swept the American Airlines Center court with the Mavs back on Dec. 20.
The final score was Miami 115, Mavs 90. But it wasn't nearly that close.
Miami led by 36 points with less than two minutes remaining in the third quarter before calling off the troops. With that, the Mavs are seeking some sort of revenge when the two teams collide Wednesday night at 6:30 in Miami.
"You have to (take the Dec. 20 beatdown personal) as a competitor,'' point guard Darren Collison said. "Everybody knows the story between Miami and Dallas -- they go way back in the championships.
"But as a competitor you have to take that first game personal. If you don't, then you shouldn't play tomorrow.''
