WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Shawn Marion has been with the Dallas Mavericks since 2009. So, when the Mavs were stumbling along with a six-game losing streak, it was as if Marion was off-balanced.
After Tuesday's 103-94 win over the Washington Wizards, Marion noted that there are certain high expectations that have become intertwined with the Mavs. Expectations that the veteran forward would love to adhere to.
"Coach (Rick Carlisle) does it very well,'' Marion said. "He says it adamantly and repetitively.
"This is a very, very prideful franchise. They pride themselves on winning, and they've been doing it very well for a long period of time.''
That's why the Mavs' six-game losing streak was so difficult for Marion to swallow.
"This (stuff) ain't acceptable,'' he said. "We've got to get our (stuff) together and get it going.''
