PORTLAND, Ore. -- More than anything, the Dallas Mavericks would like to relieve some pressure immediately by getting their four-game road trip off on the right foot.
The Mavs (19-25) open up a four-game road trip when they meet the Portland Trail Blazers (22-22) at 9 tonight at the Rose Garden. The week-long trip also includes games Thuesday against Golden State, Friday against Phoenix and Monday against Oklahoma City.
"We're a long way from home and it's us against some really hostile environments on this trip,'' coach Rick Carslisle said after this morning's shoot around. "These are all tough buildings to play (in), and these are great tests for us.
"We've got to win every game we can win, so they're all important.''
This trip will also test whether the Mavs have improved their play on the road, where they're only 7-16 this season.
