DALLAS -- Owner Mark Cuban shared his thoughts with a pool of reporters on Derek Fisher signing with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday -- just 65 days after he left the Dallas Mavericks because he said he missed his family.
"I understand, really,'' Cuban said Tuesday. "From the time Derek was here to him signing with OKC, his kids are older, so they can deal with things better.
"So I understand him having more comfort in being away from them.''
Fisher signed with the Mavs on Nov. 29, then requested they release him, which they did on Dec. 22. At the time, Fisher, who played nine games for the Mavs, cited a need to be with his family, who lives in Southern California.
