MILWAUKEE -- As the Dallas Mavericks are closing in on signing Chris Wright to a contract, coach Rick Carlisle wasn't yet willing to discuss the team's new addition.
"I'm not ready to talk about it,'' Carlisle said after Monday's practice at the Bradley Center. "All I know is it's a point guard.
"Our basketball people like him, so we'll give him a look.''
Wright averaged 15.5 points and seven assists in 38 games for the D-League's Iowa Energy this season. He'll be taking the roster spot that came open Saturday when the Mavs waived guard Dominique Jones.
Wright is in Dallas today to take a physical and could join the Mavs in time for Tuesday's game in Milwaukee against the Bucks.
