MINNEAPOLIS -- Vince Carter finished with 22 points and nine rebounds to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a 100-77 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night at the Target Center.
The Mavs (29-33) are now two games in the loss column behind the Los Angeles Lakers for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Dallas is now 2-0 on this four-game road trip which resumes Tuesday in Milwaukee and concludes Thursday in San Antonio.
Following a jumper by Dirk Nowitzki, the Mavs led 84-62 early in the fourth period and cruised form there. The lead swelled to 96-72 when rookie Jae Crowder buried a three-pointer late in the game.
Other than Carter, the Mavs got 16 points and nine rebounds from Dirk Nowitzki, 13 points and seven boards from Brandan Wright, and 10 points and 12 rebounds from Elton Brand.
The Mavs led 56-44 at the half and kept pouring it on from there.
