MILWAKUEE -- From the sound of it, Dallas Mavericks rookies Jae Crowder and Bernard James wouldn't make it out of their hometown -- let along Hollywood -- if they made an appearance on American Idol.
Crowder and James sang Happy Birthday to center Elton Brand, who turned 34 years old on Monday. Apparently, the two rookies have some rusty pipes.
"It was awful,'' said coach Rick Carlisle while smiling. "There was an effort.''
Forward Dirk Nowitzki, who is already 34 years old, said: "Welcome to the club.''
