DALLAS -- The impact of Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki on the Mavs and and city of Dallas has been "immeasurable,'' according to owner Mark Cuban.
“He’s a fixture here now, he has a home here,’’ Cuban said. “He’s a role model, he’s a great guy, so that’s all positive.’’
The Mavs are the only team Nowitzki _ he was drafted ninth overall in 1998 -- has played for. The 11-time All-Star owns several of the team's records, and was the Most Valuable Player of the playoffs when the Mavs captured the 2011 NBA title.
“Dirk's an old soul,'' Cuban said. "When he was 21 he acted like he was 75, and now that he’s 34 he only acts like he’s 76.
"So that’s always been kind of a surprise.''
