DALLAS --Russell Westbrook poured in 35 points to guide the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 107-101 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night at American Airlines Center.
Thus, the Thunder (50-17) swept the season series from the Mavs, 4-0.
Counting the 4-0 sweep in last year's playoffs over Dallas, the Thunder have now beaten the Mavs (31-35) 10 straight games. And this time they crippled the Mavs' playoff chances.
Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavs with 23 points, Vince Carter scored 18 points, Mike James notched a season-high 14 points, Darren Collison collected 12 points, and rookie Jae Crowder finished with 11 points.
Other than Westbrook, the Thunder got 31 points from Kevin Durant, and 18 points and 16 rebounds from Serge Ibaka.
The Mavs play at Atlanta at 6:30 p.m. Monday before returning to Dallas for a six-game home stand which starts Wednesday against the Brooklyn Nets.
Westbrook snapped a 101-tie when he buried a jumper with one minute left. The Mavs then were whistled for a 24-second violation when a busted play ended up with Durant blocking James' short jumper with 36 seconds left in the game.
From there, Thabo Sefolosha sealed the game with a 15-footer from the left corner that put the Thunder ahead 105-101 with 12.5 seconds remaining.
