LAS VEGAS -- Dallas Mavericks rookie point guard Shane Larkin underwent successful surgery Tuesday in Dallas on his fractured right ankle.
Team physicians Dr. T. O. Souryal and Dr. Richard Levy performed the surgery at Texas Sports Medicine.
Larkin is expected to be sidelined for about three months, meaning he'll likely be back in the middle of training camp.
The No. 18 pick of last month's NBA Draft, Larkin broke his ankle last Friday while the Mavs were practicing at American Airlines Center in preparations for the Las Vegas Summer League. The summer league is where a lot of players -- particularly rookies -- cut their teeth.
But Larkin won't have that opportunity and will be forced to play catchup once he returns.
