LAS VEGAS -- A lot of action has taken place in the Dallas Mavericks' backcourt over the past few hours.
First, the Mavs released a statement saying rookie point guard Shane Larkin will be lost for about three months after breaking his right ankle during summer league practice Friday morning at American Airlines Center. The Mavs then agreed to terms with Milwaukee Bucks shooting guard Monta Ellis on a three-year contract worth between $25-30 million.
Shortly thereafter, a source said Devin Harris won't be playing for the Mavs after all. Harris had agreed to sign a three-year, $9 million deal with Dallas, but the verbal contract was nixed because of a toe injury Harris has sustained.
While the Mavs remain interested in signing Harris, they may be able to get him at a cheaper price after he undergoes surgery.
