LAS VEGAS -- Following his solid performance against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday, Dallas Mavericks' rookie guard Ricky Ledo received high praise from coach Rick Carlisle.
"I like his progression over the last four or five days,'' Carlisle said. "Each day he was a little more confident, a little more poise, keeping things a little more simple.
"That’s going to be the key for him.''
In 23 minutes during the Mavs' 76-73 win over the Kings in the Las Vegas Summer League, Ledo tallied nine points, collected three rebounds, turned the ball over three times and was 4-of-5 from the field. For a player who last played a game in high school -- in the spring of 2012 -- Ledo acquitted himself well against the Kings.
Carlisle's plea to Ledo is: "Simplicity, and do what you do, which he is a shot-maker. He's a guy who can drive and get to the rim, and he can make plays.''
