DALLAS -- The Dallas Mavericks agreed on a two-year, $5 million contract Tuesday with shooting guard Wayne Ellington.
The agreement, first reported by Yahoo! Sports, helps the Mavs makeup for the loss of free agent shootin guard OJ Mayo, who agreed to a three-year, $24 million contract with the Milwaukee Bucks last season.
Chosen with the No. 28th overall pick by Minnesotoa in the 2009 NBA Draft, Ellington split time last season betwene the Memphis Grizzlies and Cleveland Cavaliers. In 40 games for the Grizzlies, he averaged 5.5 points and 1.3 rebounds, and in 38 games for the Cavs he averaged 10.4 points and three rebounds.
