INDIANAPOLIS -- While some NBA teams have already started releasing players during training camp, Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle isn't ready to part ways with any of the 20 players on his roster.
"I don't like cutting people,'' Carlisle said after today's shoot around at Banker's Life Fieldhouse. "Who do you want to cut?''
NBA teams can't carry no more than 15 players on their regular season roster and don't have to get down to that number until Oct. 28 -- the day before the regular season opens. And with Brandan Wright (shoulder), Jose Calderon (hamstring), Devin Harris (toe) and Shane Larkin (ankle) all out nursing injuries, Carlisle isn't so quick to rush to the chopping block to trim his roster.
"Everybody's doing enough good things that we don't need to cut anybody right now,'' Carlisle said. "We'll know when that time is.
"But right now it's a nice Wednesday in Indianapolis, so everybody's going to keep getting paid a few bucks to be here.''
