DALLAS -- Centers Samuel Dalembert and DeJuan Blair combined for 11 points, 21 rebounds and two blocks Wednesday night at American Airlines Center during the Dallas Mavericks' 98-88 win over the Atlanta Hawks.
That was impressive, and those are the type of numbers coach Rick Carlisle will be looking for those two to produce on a daily basis this season.
"We've put an emphasis on activity where five men are going after it and going after it without fouling, and both guys have responded well,'' Carlisle said. "I thought Sarge (Bernard James) when he was in there was going for rebounds, and that's got to be a high activity position really at both ends of the floor.
"And getting the rebounds is key because we've been struggling in that area.''
Overall, the Mavs lost the rebound battle to the Hawks, 42-40. Dalembert finished with five points, 11 rebounds and one block, Blair collected six points, 10 rebounds and one block, and James was scoreless with one rebound.
