HOUSTON -– One of the toughest job in the NBA on Monday went to Dallas Mavericks center Samuel
That’s mainly because Dalembert was matched against Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard, who is arguably the game’s most dominant, most strongest and most athletic center.
“When I have a big challenge like that my help is very limited,’’ Dalembert said. “My help is very limited for the other guys, but I was managing to come back and help out a little bit and then come back to Dwight and not let him get easy possessions inside.
“He made some tough shots.’’
Howard made 6-of-12 shots and finished with 15 points, 17 rebounds, three steals and one blocked shot in 29 minutes. Dalembert made 5-of-9 baskets and collected 13 points, seven boards, three blocks and two steals in 25 minutes.
“I have to be faster, I have to be able to move,’’ Dalembert said. “You know we’re not going to get the battle of strength out there in the middle.
“I was able to disturb him a little bit and at the same time able to protect the rim.’’
