HOUSTON -- When he took a look at his team on the Toyota Center court Monday night, Rick Carlisle saw a tired unit.
The Dallas Mavericks' coach also saw his team get hammered on the boards by the Houston Rockets, who went on to emerge with a 100-95 victory over the Mavs.
Dwight Howard battered the Mavs with 15 points, 17 rebounds and three steals. And although 7-footer Omer Asik had just four points, his nine boards and wide body created monumental problems inside for the Mavs.
"I’m not using being tired as an excuse,'' Carlisle said. "What I thought is our energy wasn’t as good as it has been in the other games.
"I’m sure that led to some of our rebounding problems. But I think Howard and Asik led to some of
them as well, because that's what you’re up against with this team.’’
