DALLAS -- The Dallas Mavericks, as expected, waived point guard Mickey McConnell on Saturday afternoon.
McConnell played just 8.7 minutes per game and was only in on five of the Mavs' eight preseason games. He averaged 1.8 points and 1.4 assists per game.
The Mavs now have the NBA maximum of 15 players on their roster and will not have to make any more cuts before they open the regular season Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at American Airlines Center against the Atlanta Hawks.
