While there are numerous claims league-wide that eight preseason games are too many, coach Rick Carlisle understands why fans are asked to pay for so many meaningless games.
“The issue with exhibition games and the reason that they probably won’t decrease anytime soon is that so many teams have them tied into their season ticket package,’’ Carlisle said. “From a revenue standpoint it’ll hard to eliminate that.
“I think globally the feeling would be a couple of less (preseason games) would be fine. But its been eight for as long as I can remember.’’
The Mavs finished preseason with a 4-4 record after losing to Indiana, 98-77, Friday night at American Airlines Center. Dallas opens the regular season at home Wednesday against the Atlanta Hawks.
