DALLAS -– Count Dirk Nowitzki among those who expressed the need the Dallas Mavericks have for Brandan Wright.
A small non-displaced fractured left shoulder has sidelined Wright since he suffered the injury in an Oct. 8 practice session. The 6-10 center/power forward is out indefinitely, and the Mavs are already concerned about the impact of his loss.
“We need Brandan Wright’s athleticism and his rolls to the basket, and his finishes around the basket,’’ Nowitzki said. “I think we’re going to miss that daily for the first week or two.
“I don’t know how long he’s going to be out, but we definitely need him. And then I think if we’re healthy we can be a deep and dangerous team.’’
