DALLAS -- He's entering his contract season after putting a lot of miles on his 35-year old body. But Shawn Marion refuse to think this could be his last season with the Dallas Mavericks.
"I'm looking at this right here and there,'' Marion said after Tuesday's opening day of training camp. "That’s it.
"That’s all y'all worry about.Tomorrow is not promised to nobody.''
Marion is slated to make $9.3 million this season and has been one of the Mavs' more productive players since he came here on Feb. 13, 2009 via a trade with the Toronto Raptors. But if the Mavs decide to go younger after this season, Marion may not be back.
That prospect, however, doesn't concern the defensive specialist, who has already said he would love to play beyond this season.
"I'm glad I wake up every morning and get out the bed,'' Marion said. "I don’t take none of this (expletive delete) for granted.''
