DALLAS -- When the Dallas Mavericks play their third preseason game Monday against the Orlando Magic, coach Rick Carlisle is looking for his team to make some marked improvements in all areas of their game.
Carlisle, though, knows it's too soon to implement all the plays that he wants his team to learn. And that's a balancing act he has to endure when the Mavs (1-1) host the Magic (0-2) at 7:30 p.m. at American Airlines Center.
"I just want to see us continue to get better in the efficiency area, in the rebounding area and with our understanding with philosophically what we're doing,'' Carlisle said after Sunday's practice. "With nine new guys one of the challenges is to make sure that you don’t go too fast and throw too much stuff at them at once.
"That’s where we’re at.''
