DALLAS -- Rick Carlisle claims he doesn't look at the NBA standings.
But the Dallas Mavericks coach believes there will be a lot of teams in the Eastern Conference hovering around the .500 record at season's end.
"The East is going to be more, they’re going to be more teams that at or below .500,'' Carlisle said after Wednesday's practice. "If you look at the standings you’ll see that the lower teams in the East are going to be struggling a little bit more because a lot of them are rebuilding.
"The West is going to be -- out of 15 teams -- it's going to be 12-deep at least in playoff contention. So every game every night is going to be meaningful.''
