MIAMI -- The Dallas Mavericks hit another rough patch on the road again Friday night at American Airlines Arena.
LeBron James tossed in 39 points to lead the Miami Heat to a 110-104 victory over the Mavs, who are 5-4 on the season and just 1-4 on the road.
The Mavs, who turned the ball over a season-high 24 times, will close out this two-game road trip Saturday at 6 p.m. in Orlando against the Magic before returning home to host Philadelphia on Monday.
Dallas had a chance to tie the game, but Monta Ellis missed a three-pointer with 59.1 seconds left when the Mavs were down by three. Chris Bosh then hit a pair of free throws for Miami, Ellis turned the ball over, and LeBron James nailed a couple of free throws as the Heat padded their lead to 106-99 with 46.7 seconds left.
Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavs with 28 points, Vince Carter poured in 21, Ellis scored 20 and Jose Calderon tallied 12.
James led the Heat (6-3) with 39 points, Dwyane Wade scored 17 and Bosh added 14.
