DALLAS -- Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki continues to show he has a very big heart.
For every two-point field goal the Mavs convert between Nov. 6-Dec. 6, Nowitzki has pledged to pay $20 to the iBellieve Foundation's Two for MPS II campaign. MSP II is a progressive disease which inhibits the body’s ability to rid itself of cellular waste and can ultimately cause numerous health problems, including death.
The founder of the foundation, Simon Ibell, is a friend of Nowitzki's.
In a press release, Ibell said: “Our goal is to increase awareness for MPS II and ask people to spread the word to help raise funds and find a cure for this devastating disease. It’s terrific to have Dirk’s support of our Two for MPS II campaign.
"We are not far off from a cure, but we need more people supporting us like Dirk to get there."
