DALLAS -- Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki received a flopping warning Tuesday from the NBA for a play that occurred Monday night against the Denver Nuggets at American Airlines Center.
On the play in question, Nowitzki fired up a three-pointer with 49 seconds remaining in the third period right in front of the outstretched arms of Nuggets forward Darrell Arthur. Nowitzki went tumbling to the floor as if Arthur had made illegal contact with him, but the league office ruled Tuesday that the 11-time All-Star had flopped on the play.
If Nowitzki is flagged for flopping again, the NBA will fine him $5,000.
