MIAMI -- Dirk Nowitzki has been wearing a black sleeve on his left knee for the past two games.
It's a definite concern to fans of the Dallas Mavericks, because Nowitzki missed the first 27 games last season after he underwent surgery on his right knee.
Has something gone medically wrong with Nowitzki's left knee a year after the right one gave him trouble?
Nope. At least not according to Nowitzki.
After the Mavs opened a two-game road trip Friday with a 110-104 loss to the Miami Heat, Nowitzki said not to read anything into the fact that he started wearing a black sleeve on his left knee this past Tuesday against the Washington Wizards and continued to wear it Friday against the Heat. Yet he did admit the left knee "didn't feel great'' recently.
"We had a lot of games and it didn’t feel great there for awhile, but it was fine today,'' Nowitzki said. "It was moving fine.
"So I'm probably going to keep rocking it for awhile. But as long as I move and feel good, I'm ready to roll.''
