DALLAS -- Those home-and-home back-to-back games which the Portland Trail Blazers are in the midst of are so rare that it's only being performed 13 times this season in the entire NBA.
And by only seven of the league's 30 teams.
Portland hosted and defeated the Utah Jazz on Friday, 130-98, and will now entertain the Dallas Mavericks at 9 tonight at the Moda Center. The Mavs (12-8), who flew to Portland on Friday, are hoping to capitalize on a Blazer (17-3) squad that may be a bit fatigued considering the back-to-back sitauation.
By the way, the other teams staging home-and-home back-to-backs this season are the Brooklyn Nets, Charlotte Bobcats, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers and Washington Wizards. The Clippers and Wizards are doing in twice, while the Pistons and Sixers are doing it three times.
