HOUSTON -- Dallas Mavericks forward Jae Crowder has been receiving kudos recently from coach Rick Carlisle for his defense.
Finally, Carlisle and others had something nice to say about Crowder's offense.
Crowder poured in 11 points Monday night as the Mavs beat the Houston Rockets, 111-104, at the Toyota Center. This was the most points Crowder has scored in 12 games, when he tallied 12 points in a Nov. 27 contest against the Golden State Warriors.
Crowder noted he hadn't been down on himself because his offense has been in a deep freeze.
"I was playing good basketball,'' he said. "I was driving the ball well and making my free throws, so I wasn't mad at myself at all.
"I'm still going to be a shooter. The guys expect me to make shots, so I'm still going to let it go.''
Against the Rockets, Crowder made 4-of-7 shots, including 3-of-7 from behind the three-point line. He also picked up two steals and blocked a shot while playing 23 minutes.
