Saturday night in Frisco, Ricky Ledo did what Ricky Ledo does best.
The talented guard scored a lot of points in a short period of time.
In his first game with the D-League's Texas Legends, Ledo tallied 19 points in just 24 minutes during the Legends' 111-106 victory over the Tulsa 66ers.
The Dallas Mavericks assigned Ledo to the Legends on Saturday after he played just six games for Dallas and averaged only 1.2 points in 2.6 minutes. Against the 66ers, Ledo was 6-of-11 from the field and also collected five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
The Mavs couldn't find playing time for Ledo and didn't want the 43rd player in last June's NBA Draft to continue wasting away on the bench.
“I think this will be a good chance for him to really see some time, because he hasn’t played ball in a long time,’’ forward Shawn Marion said. “It’ll be good for him to go in there and get some shots up.
“He’s going to do that. He was getting some shots up when he had the opportunity here, so he’ll get them up there, too.’’
