DALLAS -- Dirk Nowitzki doesn't think his nose was broken after it was inadvertantly hit Saturday night by an elbow from Minnesota guard Ricky Rubio.
"But since it wasn’t a foul I might get another flopping call from my boy Rod Thorn on Monday,'' Nowitzki said. "But it's actually a miracle, my nose is so big, I don’t hit it more often.
"So I try to dodge it every night I'm out there. So it’s a miracle I don’t hit it.''
Thorn, the NBA's president of basketball operations, gave Nowitzki a flopping warning for a play that occurred last Monday against Denver when the 11-time All-Star fell down after launching a shot in front of Nuggets' forward Darrell Arthur. A second flopping charge would net Nowitzki a $5,000 fine.
As far as Saturday's incident goes, no stitches were needed to close the gash on Nowitzki's nose.
"I think we could have done one stitch, but I decided against it,'' Nowitzki said."I’ll be alright Monday.''
