DALLAS -- Dirk Nowitzki was more than pleased with the solid performance the Dallas Mavericks received from embattled center Samuel Dalembert during Wednesday's 105-91 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.
Dalembert was a bit down on himself after not playing in Saturday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks because of a coach's decision. But instead of pouting and complaining, Dalembert came off the bench, played 13 minutes against the Grizzlies and wound up with eight points, seven rebounds, two blocks and two steals while playing terrific man-to-man defense on Zach Randolph.
"I like the lift that Sam gave us off the bench,'' Nowitzki said. "He's been out of the lineup for a couple of games, but he was phenomenal using his length on Zebo.
"He got some blocks, he got some rebounds, he tried to go between his legs on the break one time. That was sweet. So he had it all tonight.’’
