PHOENIX --After that terrific shooting display the Phoenix Suns put on Saturday night while lighting up Dallas, the Mavericks couldn't do anything but give credit where credit was due.
"It was one of those nights where they couldn't miss,'' said Monta Ellis, who scored 19 points and handed out nine assists. "I think every open three they made, and if not they only missed one or two.
"It was their night.''
The Suns made 29-of-56 two-pointers, 15-of-30 three-pointers and 20-of-22 free throws. In other words, they set the nets on fire.
Ellis said: "They established the lead and did all the right things to maintain that lead and they came out with the win.''
The energy the Mavs spent Friday night in losing a 19-point lead and losing at home in overtime to Toronto had no bearing on Saturday's game. At least that's the word(s) according to Ellis.
"We can't worry about last night,'' Ellis said. "We had a game in front of us that we thought we could win and like I said, they came out and they were the better team tonight.''
