DALLAS – Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle wasn’t at American Airlines Center on Saturday when Brandan Wright made his season debut with 19 points in only 19 minutes during a 106-93 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.
“He was obviously ready to play and it was a good game to get him back into it,’’ Carlisle said. “He showed the value that he brings to our team.’’
Wright had been sidelined since suffering a small non-displaced fracture of his left shoulder in an Oct. 8 practice session. Carlisle, meanwhile, wasn't at the AAC on Saturday because of an illness.
However, while watching the Bucks-Mavs game at home on TV, Carlisle couldn’t help but rave about Wright, who was 9-of-10 from the field against Milwaukee.
“He’s got a feel for the game that’s unique,’’ Carlisle said. “It’s important to have him back.’’
