CLEVELAND -- When the Dallas Mavericks had guards Shane Larkin and Devin Harris in the backcourt Monday at the same time, it sped up the game during the 102-97 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers considerably.
The Mavs have always bragged about how the parameters of their game would change in the speed department once Harris returned from offseason left foot surgery. Well, he's back.
"We've actually been playing (Harris) and Shane together, some at the 1-2 combo,'' forward Dirk Nowitzki said. "That’s a lot of speed out there, which is great because our starting lineup, I wouldn’t say we’re the fastest team out there.
"So that’s definitely nice to have a little one-two combo off the bench that’s fast and pick up full court and speed the game for us. And I thought they were great there in the second quarter when we pushed the lead up (to 59-35).''
