DALLAS -- Devin Harris will make his long-awaited debut tonight for the Dallas Mavericks.
A 10-year veteran guard, Harris has been out the entire season after undergoing surgery in August on his left foot. Coach Rick Carlisle didn't say if Harris would be on a minutes restriction when the Mavs host Portland tonight at 7:30 at American Airlines Center.
"I'm ready to roll,'' Harris said. "I'm just excited just to get back out there.
"Words can't describe it. You miss it so much and I've been gone so long. I'm just nervous and ready to get out there.''
Harris said it was his decision to play tonight against the third-best team in the NBA rather than wait until Monday when the Mavs play the struggling Cleveland Cavaliers.
"I felt like it was the right time,'' Harris said. "Obviously I could have waited untl Monday.
"But the body felt right, practice went well, why not give it a shot tonight.''
