DALLAS -- This is sort of getting weird for the Dallas Mavericks.
A Mavs' team that couldn't win on the road is now suddenly finding prosperity away from home. And a Mavs' team that couldn't lose at home has suddenly been unable to win at home lately.
The Mavs just came home, fresh from going 3-0 on a road trip for the first time in almost two years. Unfortunately, the Mavs were greeted by yet another loss at home -- 119-112 to the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night.
It's the third straight home game the Mavs have lost. They suffered losses to Toronto (109-108 in overtime) and San Antonio (116-107) before heading out of town to beat Chicago, Minnesota and Washington within a span of five days.
The losses have become frustrating to the Mavs, who are trying to make the playoffs after missing out on the postseason action last year.
"The way we let those games slip away I don't think we're a playoff team,'' forward Dirk Nowitzki said of the three latest home losses. "We've got to win those games.
"We should be able to find a way to get some stops and then protect the home court. This is another one we've just got to have. We can't afford to give games away, and that's what we did.''
After starting the season 7-0 at home, the Mavs are now just 11-5 at the AAC. After starting the season 2-6 on the road, the Mavs are now 8-9 away from the AAC.
